India Seize Series As They Take 2-0 Lead After 8-Wicket Victory Against Kiwis

Raipur: India keeps the winning streak intact as they seize another home series after registering an 8-wicket win, in a low-score chase of 109 runs by New Zealand, taking a 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match ODI series on Saturday.

The Indian bowling unit remained the highlight of the match as all five six bowlers were able to knock wickets in the match. Shami secured three wickets, making in-roads in the opening overs of the game.

Kiwi batsman Glenn Phillips was the top-scorer for the side with 36 off 52 balls, while Mitchell Santner managed to score 27 runs in the innings and Michael Bracewell scored 22 runs in the first innings.

Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill managed to build up a match-winning partnership of 71 runs. Classic Rohit Sharma performance was on display as the skipper reached his half-century which included seven fours and two sixes.

Star batsman Virat Kohli failed to save his wicket as he was dismissed at 11 runs by Mitchell Santner.

The Indian side will now travel to Indore to play the final ODI match of the series on Tuesday.
