Lok Sabha Polls: BJP Launches Election Manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ | Top Updates


New Delhi: With the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its election manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ on Sunday. The manifesto outlines the party’s vision, policies, and promises for the upcoming elections.

The party released its “Sankalp Patra” at its headquarters in New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.


  • In a bid to support the elderly population, PM Modi assured that individuals above 75 years of age would be brought under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Additionally, the transgender community will also be included in the health scheme.
  • The BJP election manifesto promised ‘One Nation One Election’ and “single electoral roll”.
  • The BJP has vowed to implement the Union Civil Code (UCC). The party said that women will not get equal rights until a common legal code is implemented.
  • The BJP’s election manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra,’ emphasizes its dedication to securing a permanent seat on the UN Security Council to enhance India’s influence in global policymaking.
  • The manfisto also focuses on bringing forward more Lakhpati Didis. It promises to make electricity bills zero with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
  • The manifesto features India’s Olympics bid in 2036, the implementation of the National Education Policy, and a law against paper leaks, among other promises.
  • The BJP’s election manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra,’ pledges to collaborate with state governments to provide easily accessible facilities for senior citizens to partake in holy pilgrimages throughout the nation.
  • The party also aims to make the nation the third largest economy in the world.
  • The year 2025 will be declared the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Year’.
  • The party also said that it will continue its effective efforts to establish peace in the North-East and phase out the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act.
  • The party has also promised to implement laws to prevent paper leaks and conduct transparent public exams.
  • The party manifesto announced an increase in the amount of the MUDRA Yojana loan from 10 lakh to 20 lakh.
  • PM Modi speaking at the Election manifesto said, “In past years, MUDRA Yojana has turned crores of people into entrepreneurs…Looking at this success, BJP has taken one more ‘sankalp’ – under MUDRA Yojana loans up to Rs 10 Lakhs were provided. Now the BJP has decided to increase the limit to Rs 20 Lakhs. I am confident that this will be used as a new strength towards building the kind of ecosystem that is required for the era of Industry 4.0.”
  • At the manifesto launch event, PM Modi announced plans to extend the reach of Vande Bharat trains across India. He revealed three new models of Vande Bharat trains: Sleeper, Chaircar, and Metro. Modi highlighted the progress of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project, nearing completion. He further stated that Bullet Trains would be introduced in North, South, and Eastern India, with preliminary survey work set to begin soon.
  • PM Modi further assured that the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits will persist for the country’s 10 crore farmers, emphasizing the party’s commitment to cooperative growth with the introduction of the ‘Rashtriya Sahkarita Niti’.
  • PM Modi also highlighted the party’s ambitious plans to propel India towards becoming a global nutrition hub with a strong focus on ‘Shree Anna’.
