Tonk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his stance on Tuesday regarding his recent remarks accusing the Congress of attempting to seize property, specifically targeting women’s Mangalsutra, stirring a heated debate. Speaking at a public meeting in Rajasthan’s Tonk, PM Modi emphasized that his statements had rattled the Congress and the INDIA bloc.
In his address, PM Modi highlighted what he described as a deep-rooted conspiracy by the Congress to expropriate citizens’ property and redistribute it to favored individuals. He pointedly criticized what he termed as the Congress’s vote bank and appeasement politics, questioning why the party was so apprehensive about confronting the truth.
Furthermore, PM Modi speculated on the hypothetical scenario of a Congress government being in power post-2014. He suggested that under such circumstances, the nation’s security situation, as well as the welfare of its armed forces, would have been compromised. He asserted that Congress’s historical approach has always been centered around appeasement and vote bank politics.
PM Modi specifically referenced Congress’s alleged attempts to introduce reservations based on religion, citing instances in Andhra Pradesh between 2004 and 2010. He accused Congress of aiming to extend reservation benefits to Muslims, contrary to constitutional principles and the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. PM Modi assured the audience that his administration is committed to preserving existing reservations for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, while ensuring they are not fragmented along religious lines.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amidst a backdrop of heightened political tensions and scrutiny ahead of upcoming elections, underscoring the broader ideological and policy differences between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress party.
