Fact Checked: Sachin Pilot didn’t say ‘help Pak instead of building Sardar Patel statue’

A picture post is making rounds on social media which has a quote attributed to Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot with his picture on it.

The text on the picture reads: “सरदार पटेल की मूर्ति बनाने से अच्छा कर्ज में डूबे पाकिस्तान का मदद करते: सचिन पायलट (कांग्रेस)”

(Translation: Instead of making Sardar Patel’s statue, should have helped Pakistan: Sachin Pilot)

When NewsMobile came across this post, we fact-checked it and found that Sachin Pilot never made the above statement.

On putting the exact statement and keywords on Google, there were no news reports based on the quote attributed to Sachin Pilot.

We further scanned through his verified Twitter handle (@SachinPilot), but there was no such tweet related to the above statement.

Hence, this proved that the quote in the picture is wrongly attributed to Sachin Pilot.
