New Delhi: Rains lashed parts of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday and the meteorological office issued a red alert till 23rd August, while an orange alert has been issued for two days on 23rd and 24th August. Meanwhile, all educational institutions and Anganwadis in Shimla district remain closed on the 23rd and 24th of August in view of ‘Red’ alert for heavy rain.

Earlier this month, about 80 people died in rain-related incidents, including major landslides in Shimla.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has claimed that the state has suffered losses of Rs 10,000 crores.
