Security forces gunned down one terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday. According to reports, the militant was killed in a brief encounter and exchange of fire with security forces during the early hours of Friday.
According to a tweet by ANI, arms and ammunition have been recovered from the site. Several media reports inform that at least three terrorists are holed up in the area.

Earlier this month on May 3, three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian. Reports inform that the encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Imam Sahib area of Shopian following a cordon and search operation in the early hours. As per preliminary information, the militants were affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen.
