Dalai Lama leaves for Rome to attend World Nobel laureates Summit

Date:

Kangra: Tibetan spiritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama left for Rome to attend 14th World Summit of Nobel laureates, which was earlier scheduled in South Africa but cancelled in protest over denial of visa to him. The summit was suspended earlier in September after the South African government failed to issue a visa for the Dalai Lama who wanted to attend the summit in Cape Town. Tibetan PM in’exile Lobsang Sangay said Dalai Lama’s participation sends as a positive message across the world for human rights and basic freedom. Tibetan administration is quite pleased that the Nobel laureates unanimously decided to move their conference to Rome with the participation of Dalai Lama.
