The video of a poll agent casting vote instead of the bona fide voter is being circulated on social media, claiming that it was taken in North India during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The post also implies that the polling agent was voting for BJP.

Putting the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team identified the same video, uploaded by Punjab Kesari on YouTube, dated May 13, 2019, with a title: “Poll Agent Illegally Caste Vote In Haryana’s Faridabad.”
According to the video description: “A polling agent in Faridabad (NCR) was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly tried to influence voters in the sixth round of election. Action was taken against the official after a video on Twitter was brought to the notice of the Haryana election body.#2019LokSabhaElection.”
The NDTV has also carried the same video, stating that the polling agent was arrested for trying to influence three women voters while they were casting their votes.
NDTV had also interviewed the woman visible in the video and the accused polling agent. The agent said that he was explaining to them how to vote and not influencing their votes, while on the other hand, one of the women said that he was asking them to vote for BJP.

From the above information, it is clear that the viral video is from the 2019 General elections, and not related to the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha elections as claimed.
