Patna HC grants interim bail to RJD MLA

Patna, Aug 20 (PTI) The Patna High Court today grantedinterim bail to suspended RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, who hasbeen charged with raping a minor girl. A bench of Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmad Ansari grantedinterim bail to Yadav till September 5, 2016 to attend hisfather’s ‘shraadh rituals’. The court passed the order while hearing Yadav’s plea forbail for the purpose. Yadav, 50, MLA from Nawada, had surrendered before a courtif Nalanda district on March 10 this year. He was accused of raping a 15-year-old schoolgirlstudying in class X on February 6. The local court had on June 6, 2016 framed chargesagainst the RJD MLA and other accused persons in connectionwith the case. The court framed charges against Yadav under varioussections of IPC including 376 for raping a girl, besidesProtection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act)2012. PTI COR AR SUSSK
