Rajnandgaon (C’garh), Aug 21 (PTI) Security forcestoday found two powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs)planted by Naxals from an insurgency-hit pocket ofChhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district, police said. "The explosives, weighing 5 kg and 20 kg, were unearthedby a joint team of security personnel from a hill betweenNawatola and Pallemadi villages under Khadgaon police stationlimits," a senior police official said. As per the official, a composite squad of the Indo-TibetanBorder Police (ITBP) and district force had launched ananti-Maoist operation towards Nawatola, Kukrelpar andPallemadi villages. "When they were cordoning off a forested route whichconnects Nawatola with Pallemadi iron ore mines, securityforces spotted a wire connection in bushes and subsequentlyfound the explosives besides 150 metre wire," he said. The IEDs were placed in pressure cookers and hiddenbeneath stones, the official said, adding they wereimmediately neutralised by the bomb disposal squad.
