Weddings an excuse for ‘Baraatis’ to glam it up

Date:

Who doesn’t love the wedding season and Indian weddings are definitely a treat for all the attendees. A big fat Indian wedding is not only about the bride and the groom getting dolled up, but it is also about the ‘baraatis’ showing their glamorous side.

Every member of the wedding party begins planning in advance about their wedding outfits and sometime even manage to wear attires that over-power the bride and the groom’s wedding dresses.

Revealing what colours are trending this season for the baraatis, designer Surekha Jain told ANI during the Wedding Extravaganza that pink and orange will be the favourite palettes for the season.

“People these days follow a particular theme for their wedding attires so that the bride and the groom pop out to be different and they don’t overpower them,” Jain said.

“Baratis can wear attires that have mirror or thread work on it as not only these works are trending these days, they have a perfect blend of glamour and style,” she added.

Talking about the varied options for women, the designer said that they could go for long kurtas and long skirts that have a lot of thread work which don’t steal the attention away from the bride plus they are light weight, flowy and easy to carry.

So, if you are thinking what your family will wear on ‘your’ wedding day, ask them to stay cool and to opt for something light so that they can kick off their shoes and dance.
