A South Korean company has created a new form of face mask that can be worn to cover the nose, only, while the person is eating or drinking. The new mask is known as “Kosk.”
The one-of-kind mask has gone viral on social media when it was unveiled and has received mixed reactions from Netizens. While some have applauded the new mask, others have raised concerns about its efficacy.
The name of the mask “Kosk” has come from ‘ko’, the Korean word for nose, and mask.
Atman, the firm behind the “Kosk,” sells a box of ten masks for $8.13 on an online retailer, “Coupang.” The mask functions to split into two halves, one covering the mouth and the other leaving the mouth uncovered when pulled off.
Netizens, when saw the tweet where the “kosk” was introduced, some were curious about the new mask while some criticized it by pointing out that COVID-19 is an airborne virus that may still enter the body through an uncovered mouth.
