3 killed after landslide on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Date:

Mumbai/Pune: Three persons were killed and one person was injured in a landslide near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Sunday. The Mumbai-Pune Expressway had to be closed following the massive landslide.

The landslide took place near the Adoshi Tunnel which is close to Lonavala. An ambulance has been rushed to the spot.

Witness said the iron holding on the side of the expressway has become old and so the area is landslide prone.

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a nearly 100 kilometre long six-lane road, was constructed in 2002. It usually sees high traffic over the weekend with people travelling from Mumbai to Pune and vice-versa.
