Next-Gen Jaguar likely to arrive soon on Indian roads

Jaguar India has officially revealed Indian specs and details of the next-gen XF ahead of an official launch. The luxury sedan is expected to be launched in the country this month, however there’s no word on it from the Tata motors owned luxury car maker.

The next-gen XF will be available with both petrol and diesel engines versions 25t and 20d respectively. XF 20d, the diesel, will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 132 kW of power at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque @ 1750-2500 rpm. The 25t petrol version gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 177 kW @ 5500 rpm and 340 Nm of torque all the way from 1750 to 4000 rpm.

Both the version comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. XF also comes with ‘Jaguar Drive Control’, allowing to switch between four different driving modes- Standard, Eco, Dynamic or Rain/Ice/Snow. The modes alters the response of steering, throttle and the gearbox. Variant wise, the 20d model will be available in three trims- Pure, Prestige and Portfolio, while the 25t model will be available in two trims- Prestige and Portfolio.

The top spec version of the luxury sedan comes equipped with features like adaptive LED headlights with ‘J’ blade LED DRLs, 18-inch alloys, 10.2-inch touchscreen display with InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, 14 way adjustable driver seat with memory function and 825 kW Meridian Surround Sound System with 17-speakers.

Like global markets, the Next-gen XF will compete against the bunch of luxury sedans like Audi A6, Merc C-class, BMW 5-series and Volvo’s upcoming S90.
