With a goal of 100,000 signatures, until Tuesday there have been over 123,000 signatures in under five days driving the government to look into the matter.

This closely reflects the move by two US lawmakers Tod Poe and Dana Rohrabacher, who had proposed legislation in the US Congress pointed at declaring Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“It is the time we stopped paying Pakistan for its betrayal and designate it for what it is: a state sponsor of terrorism,” said Poe, chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism.

The online petition on the White House website has its deadline until October 21 but is assumed to reach its mark much earlier.
This online system of petitioning the White House has been used on numerous happenings but is often used for problems ranging from local, national and international matters. The website assures an acknowledgment from the White House within 60 days if 100,000 signatures are gathered on a petition within 30 days.
