New Delhi: Family members of Mohammad Ikhlaq, who was killed by a mob over reports of possessing beef at his residence, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav here on Sunday.
“We will help them, will also provide them with job if required,” UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said after meeting the kins of Mohammad Akhlaq.
“We thank CM Akhilesh Yadav who supported us. We hope that justice will be done,” Ikhlakh’s elder brother said.

Yadav earlier has announced a compensation of Rs 20 Lakh to the kin of 50-year-old Ikhlaq.
Chief Minister also assured justice to the family of Akhlaq and said the responsible would be severely punished.
“The government and law and administration will do its work. The accused won’t be able to get rid of the law. Justice will be done in this case and the culprits will be severely punished,” Yadav said.
Meanwhile, two main accused in the lynching case, Shivam and Vishal, were arrested on Saturday, raising the total number of accused in the case to eight.
Last Monday, following the spread of a rumour that 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq and his family had consumed beef, a mob barged into their home and lynched Akhlaq to death. His 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured in the incident.
