Yesterday, ateacher came forward to help them and offered monetary aid ofRs 15 lakh and there were calls from the US offering money forthe treatment of girls, an official said. The girls have bonded well with the constables who arestationed at the hospital to take care of them. The constables keep getting them chips and biscuits andeven get food prepared for them from their wives. The girls were deserted by their father and were left todie in a dark room on August 17. Their wounds were infectedwith maggots and they were found living in extremely badconditions in a house in Nepali Colony in Badlipur on August19. Police have already registered a case under IPC section317 (abandonment of a child under 12 years by parents orguardian) and section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act and afterGupta’s confession, murder charges were added to the FIR.
