Date:

Rules for common convicts stated that an inmate can meet her relatives, advocates or family once in 15 days. Jail records reveal that Sasikala was visited by 14 persons in 31 days, they stayed beyond the stipulated time mentioned in jail manuals.

Jail manual says no visitor is allowed after 5 pm but people met her beyond 6 pm.

The Supreme Court while giving out judgement in the DA case had ruled that Sasikala Natarajan would be treated as an ordinary convict in jail and would not be allotted any special cell inside the jail, however, but rules seem to have been flouted.

Brijesh Kalappa, Congress spokesperson stated the state government would look into the matter and duly instruct the authorities to act on it.

“Information is in public domain in response to an RTI query. The government is not aware of it. We don’t have any intention to make Sasikala extra comfortable in jail. We will certainly look at it,” said Kalappa.
