1. The Great wall of China, China: An incredible structure stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China. The historical northern borders were made to protect the Chinese Empire against intrusions. Best time to visit is springtime, from March to May.

2. Taj Mahal, Agra, India: Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the mausoleum is regarded as the finest example of Mughal architecture, combining elements from Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian styles. Agra can be best explored during October to March, during the monsoon to winter season.

3. Eiffel tower, Paris, France: One of the most recognizable structures in the world, built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. The Eiffel Tower is an absolute must see at night with the light show composed of over 20,000 lights. Best time to visit Paris is spring and autumn, in the months between March-April and October-November.

4. Grand Canal, Venice, Italy: Venice’s main water thoroughfare, lined with great Renaissance palaces, is a colorful and busy spectacle of gondolas and vaporetti. The banks of the Grand Canal are lined with more than 170 buildings, most of which date from the 13th to the 18th century. The fall is a good time to visit Venice.

5. The Colosseum, Rome, Italy: The Colosseum is probably the most impressive building of the Roman Empire. Originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, it was the largest building of the era completed in 80 AD. It mostly hosted games, and is renowned for its gladiator fights. Best months to visit are between April to June and September to October.

6. Machu Picchu, Peru: This Incan built structure soars 7,000 feet above sea level and has been called a green paradise. Nestled in the hills of Peru, Machu Picchu was not discovered until 1911 and has been called the “Lost cities”. Best time to visit is during the dry season between June and October.

7. The Great pyramid of Giza, Egypt: It is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis and the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. Measuring in at 481 feet and created around 2550 B.C., the Great Pyramid is a marvel to see. The best time to visit Egypt is from the months of October through April.

8. Antarctica: This place can be described as the land of ice and snow, with colossal icebergs and beautiful crystal blue waters. It is also home to some amazing wildlife such as penguins and leopard seals. December and January have the most sunlight (up to 20 hours a day) and daily temperatures are at their warmest. Penguins begin hatching and wildlife, especially penguin chicks, is most plentiful during this time typically.

9. The Amazon Rainforest, Brazil: The Amazon ranks as the earth’s most ecologically diverse rainforest sprawling across the heart of South America. It contains several million species of insects, plants, birds, and other forms of life. The dry season in the Amazon runs from July to December, and is the best time to visit.

10. The Great Barrier Reef, Australia: Home to the world’s largest coral reef, the Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s most treasured natural gifts. This coral reef houses over 3000 individual reef systems and coral clays. Rated as one of the seven wonders of the natural world, it stretches for 2,300 kilometers’ (1,430 miles). Best time to visit Australia is during the southern winter, from June to August.
