Sonia Modi exchange ‘poison’ charge

Date:

New Delhi: As the heat of the election witnessed exchange of barbed shafts, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had an encounter.

The venue of Sonia Gandhi’s attack was Gulbarga (Karnataka) where she said, BJP is indulging in divisive politics by “sowing seeds of poison” (zeher ki kheti) and instigating violence.

“This is an area which was the ‘karmabhoomi’ of  Sufi saints and a symbol of composite culture of the country. I firmly believe that you will not allow those who sow the seeds of poison, who don’t believe in secular credentials and who play the politics of instigating violence to succeed.”

Modi has to wait for 24 hours for his rebuttal. The venue was Meerut, and it was Sunday. Modi said it is Congress that had sown and harvested poison. Afer all, Congress has ruled the country for the maximum number of years after Independence. People ask why farmers are committing suicide, Sonia says they (BJP) are sowing poison.
