Iran to share nuclear data

Date:

Tehran: Iran has agreed to share information on its detonators as part of its series of confidence building measures, according to the UN Nuclear agency. Iran is addressing accusations that it is working to develop nuclear weapons, allegations it has repeatedly denied.

The development marks one of the major steps taken by Iran to cooperate with the world powers on its nuclear energy. The International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran has agreed, during talks in Tehran, to take seven new practical measures within three months.

After years of hostility Iran took its first step to curb its nuclear activities by signing an interim nuclear deal with six world powers in return for economic relief from western sanctions. The November deal allows Iran access to $4.2 billion in revenues blocked in foreign banks.
