Moin Khan new Pak head coach

Date:

Johannesburg: Former Pakistani captain Moin Khan has been appointed as the head coach of the national team and will replace Australian Dav Whatmore, whose two-year contract expired last month.

Khan was shortlisted along with another former captain and ex-coach Waqar Younis by a four-man committee, which included former captain Javed Miandad, Intikhab Alam and Wasim Akram earlier this week.

The decision came after a lengthy management committee meeting under the chairmanship of Najam Sethi who replaced Mohammad Zaka Ashraf, and a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said, Khan will coach the team for Asia Cup and World Twenty20, to be held in Bangladesh.
