Police crack down on MNS workers as they go on rampage

Date:

Mumbai: Maharashtra roads are in a state of chaos as MNS workers are in a mood of defiance. But the government is determined to crack down on MNS workers to restore normal traffic in the state.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, on the early Wednesday, took to the streets against toll collection. The state-wide rasta roko abhiyan called by MNS Chief Raj Thackeray has hit the daily life of people.

The Mumbai police arrested and later released Raj Thackeray near Chembur. Breaking his silence Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan appealed to Raj Thackeray to call off the stir. Nearly 500 MNS workers are taken into preventive custody in Vashi and Pune.

Thackeray had issued a call for all toll plazas to remain shut on Wednesday, after the Chief Minister’s talk with him failed.
