Jamaican sprinter Fraser-Pryce heads Dohas Diamond League line-up

Reigning world and Olympic 100m champion Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce will headline a stellar field for the opening meeting of the 2014 IAAF Diamond League in Doha on May 9.

The 27-year-old Jamaican, freshly minted as world indoor 60m champion, will be making her third appearance in Doha and will race the 100m after winning the 200m last season in the Qatari capital.

She will be up against double world sprint finalist Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria and Kerron Stewart, a 100m finalist at the Moscow worlds and 2008 Olympic 200m silver medallist. US trio Barbara Pierre, English Gardner and Alexandria Anderson will also race.

Elsewhere on the track, world 400m champion LaShawn Merritt will come up against American teammate Tony McQuay and Dominica’s Luguelin Santos.

And the men’s 200m will feature the reigning world silver and bronze medallists in Jamaican Warren Weir and American Curtis Mitchell
