New Delhi: Sharad Pawar has made it clear that his party will not ally with BJP. The question doesn’t arise, he emphatically said, predicting with his political acumen that BJP will not get the magic number. Â
“I am not an astrologer but I am confident that BJP will not get the numbers,” he told a television channel during an interview.
When asked about Narendra Modi’s aspirations, he said, “What happened in 2004? BJP lost in 2004 despite (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee being a towering figure and India Shining campaign.”
Pawar, however, refused to say whether he was willing to work under Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. “Let the majority come,” he said, without divulging anything else.
The 73-year-old also said he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls anymore. “I am the only person who has contested 14 elections and has won all of them. I will be a Rajya Sabha member and will work for development of the party,”
