New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal, a former ally of the BJP, may go back to the NDA camp to help in government formation at the Centre. In exchange, BJD has demanded a special status for Odisha.
BJD’s Pravati Tripathi said on Wednesday that the Naveen Patnaik-led party may give conditional support to NDA at the Centre. “Keeping in view the opinion of the whole country and the state’s interest, there should be no problem in providing conditional support to NDA to form government at the Centre,” he said.
However, BJD has kept its cards close to the chest as it had vowed support to a non-BJP, non-Congress Front but later missed a key meeting of the ‘Third Front’ constituents.
