Apple cuts Mac Book Pro price in India by Rs 11000

Date:

New Delhi: Tech giant Apple on Tuesday reduced the price of its 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro by Rs 11,000 to Rs 78,900. The California-headquartered firm also updated MacBook Pro with Retina display with faster processors, doubled the memory in both its entry-level configurations.

Specifications for the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro remain the same: It has a 2.5-gigahertz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4 gigabytes of 1600MHz memory, a 500-gigabyte 5400-rpm spinning hard drive, and Intel HD graphics 4000. Despite its heft, it also gets poorer battery life than the thinner models with Retina displays: 7 hours of advertised uptime versus 9 hours for the premium 13-inch varieties.

The sole remaining 13-inch model with disc drive is now by far the cheapest option for users looking to get a professional-grade notebook from Apple, costing a full Rs. 12,000 cheaper than the entry 13-inch Retina model. That model was given a bump on Tuesday to 8 gigabytes of RAM, doubling its previous offering, while the processor was increased to a 2.6-gigahertz dual-core Intel Core i5.

The top-of-the-line 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now has a new, lower starting price of Rs. 1,79,000. The 15-inch model features faster quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, 16GB of memory, up from 8GB in the entry-level notebook, and can be configured with quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 4.0 GHz.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is available with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.4 GHz, 16GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and Intel Iris Pro graphics starting Rs, 1,50,000. With 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, 16GB of memory, 512GB of flash storage, and Intel Iris Pro and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics it will cost Rs 1,80,000.
