National conference on higher education in Jaipur next month

Date:

Jaipur: Nearly 500 academicians are expected to converge at a national conference here to discuss the issues and challenges in higher education in the country next month.

The seminar will be organised by Akhil Bhartiya Rastriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), a teachers’ organisation, and hosted by the University of Rajasthan and its College Teachers’ Association.

“Governance, financing, autonomy, public-private partnership and national and international collaborations in higher education will be the sub-themes in the programme which would be attended by around 500 delegates and academicians from renowned universities and institutions,” Prof. JP Singhal, General Secretary, ABRSM, said on Monday.

The seminar on Regulatory Mechanism in Higher Education will take place on September 13 and 14 to deliberate on the issues concerning regulatory interventions in higher education in the country, he said at a press conference.

Singhal said that there was a lack of coordination among higher education bodies including AICTE, MCI and others which creates a gap and need an urgent attention and a proper strategy.
