Zurich Film Fest to kick off with James Brown biopic ‘Get On Up’

Date:

Washington: James Brown biopic ‘Get On Up’ is all set to open Zurich International Film Festival 2014.

Directed by Tate Taylor, the film highlights the rise from rags-to-riches of the legendary performer, who was considered founding fathers of funk music and supporter of black pride.

The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Godfather of Soul along with Dan Aykroyd, Lennie James and Tate’s ‘The Help’ star Viola Davis, and credits Brian Grazer and Mick Jagger as producers. Boseman would be attending the festival’s premiere with Tate later in September.

Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) takes place in Zurich at the end of September since 2005. The ZFF has developed rapidly in the few years since its foundation and now attracts a total of 71,000 visitors. The 10th Zurich Film Festival takes place from September 25 – October 5, 2014
