New Delhi: The out-of-favour Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh may campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. However, as his role in the party is unverified, he could well join BJP as a member and may contest election on BJP ticket from Palani seat in Haryana, sources said.
Yuvraj Singh on Friday met BJP President Amit Shah at the party office here and since then the speculations of him moving to politics is high.
Sources said Yuvraj met Shah as he is planning to start his political career.
However, according to a retweet from Yuvraj’s verified Twitter account – Nishaan Jeet Arora – the meeting with BJP President Amit Shah was to discuss India’s cancer problem and what his foundation YOUWECAN is doing.
“@NJA21: Dear friends, just to clarify @YUVSTRONG12 met BJP president Shri Amit Shah to discuss cancer problem in India n wht @YOUWECAN is doing.â€
Yuvraj is currently out of the Indian team across all formats and missed the recently concluded tour to England.
