Apple withdraws flawed iOS 8 update

Date:

Washington: Apple has reportedly withdrawn an update for the iOS 8 operating system, after it gave rise to a series of glitches on its devices.

The company had released the update to fix glitches reported by iPhone and iPad users but those who installed it said that they faced difficulties in making phone calls and using fingerprints to unlock their device.

While the older models have proved to be comparatively less vulnerable to the glitches caused by the software update, the iPhone6 is the only device that seems to have been impacted most by the flaws.

An Apple spokeswoman said the company has received reports about the glitches caused by the iOS 8.0.1 updates and is investigating these reports.

She assured Apple will provide information as quickly as possible but has decided to pull back the iOS 8.0.1 update for now.

Affected users have been advised to switch back to the original iOS 8 version
