China: How far would you go to propose your girl? A teddy bear? A diamond ring? Or a car? This guy from China proposed her girl with 99 iPhones 6. Yes, you heard it right, 99 iPhone 6.
On the eve of Singles Day in China on Tuesday – a type of Valentine’s Day that sees millions of singles throughout the country celebrate the day by trying to woo that special someone – one man thought the time was right to tie the knot with his girlfriend, preventing them both from having to participate in any future 11/11 festivities.
A computer programmer by profession, the man bought 99 iPhone 6 and made a heart shaped ring with them around his girlfriend and proposed her. The young Guangzhou tech worker spent 500,000 yuan (£51,543) on Apple’s latest gadget, the equivalent of more than 17 years the average worker’s salary.
The woman, however, apparently said “no,” leaving the fella with a whole bunch of iPhones and a handful of flowers.
Meanwhile, the pictures went viral at the Chinese site Weibo. Even Twitter lover took to the micro blogging site and posted their comments.

Thankfully, demand for the new iPhone remains high in China, so he shouldn’t have too much trouble reselling them.
According to a recent survey, one in five men would actually rather have an iPhone 6 than a girlfriend. And that number is even up from last year’s survey about the iPhone 5s, where one in eight said they would forgo the soft touch of a woman for a new Touch ID-equipped Apple phone.
