Gurgaon gets new DC new police Chief

Date:

Gurgaon: In a major administrative reshuffle, Haryana government on Friday transferred 71 senior IAS officers in the state. The transfers included 18 new Deputy Commissioners being posted in the districts. This is the biggest administrative reshuffle of IAS officers in the state after the BJP government of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took office on October 26.

The late-evening reshuffle saw two key officers with in-depth knowledge of Gurgaon being handed the city’s administrative reins. T L Satyaprakash, who has already served as additional deputy commissioner, took over as the new district head while 2005 batch IAS Anita Yadav was named the new HUDA administrator. Navdeep Singh Virk was named commissioner of police.

While Virk has already worked as the Deputy Inspector General of state crime in Gurgaon, Yadav was an officer on special duty attached to the office of divisional commissioner of Gurgaon just before the fresh orders came.

A 1997 batch officer Pradeep Kasni has been appointed as the new divisional commissioner. The government did not name the municipal commissioner for the city, though the incumbent MCG chief Vikas Yadav has been sent to Chandigarh as special secretary of health department and mission director for National Rural Health Mission. “The government seems to have gone ahead with the best choice considering how Gurgaon is a fertile ground for corrupt practices.

Senior IAS office Ashok Khemka, who was hounded by the previous Bhupinder Singh Hooda government after he cancelled the land deal between Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s companies and realty giant DLF, is the new secretary and commissioner for transport.

Sumita Misra, additional principal secretary to the chief minister, will also be the director general and secretary tourism, director general and secretary hospitality and managing director of the Haryana Tourism Development Corporation.

Anand Mohan Sharan is the new resident commissioner in New Delhi.

Abhilaksh Likhi will be the new director general and secretary of information, public relations and cultural affairs and languages and grievances departments. Rajeev Ranjan will be the new commissioner of Rohtak division.

The government has posted new Deputy Commissioners in Panchkula, Gurgaon, Panipat, Sirsa, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Palwal, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Ambala, Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Mewat, Jind and Faridabad districts.
