LeT militants carried out J&K attacks: Lt-Gen Subrata Saha

Date:

Srinagar: Two days after major terror attacks in four towns of J&K, Lieutenant-General Subrata Saha said the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) group.

The statement made by Saha, on Sunday, said the militants were highly trained to carry out special operations and that the sequence of events suggested it was a planned attack instead of “routine infiltration”.

According to ANI, he confirmed that the items recovered from the terrorists had the branding of Pakistan.

It should be noted that the arms and ammunitions recovered by the Indian Army from the slain militants had the branding of Pakistan.

Also, the food packets recovered from the terrorists had Urdu markings, further strengthening the claim that Pakistan might be involved in the terror attacks.

The attack on Army camp in Uri left 11 security personnel including a Lt Colonel dead while the attack in Tral killed two civilians.

The total toll of the attacks in Uri, Tral, Srinagar and Shopian was 21, including a top commander of LeT and seven militants.
