Gujarat cop suspended for shaking a leg with bar dancer

Date:

Surat: A Gujarat cop caught on camera gyrating with a dancer on a Bhojpuri song and throwing money on her was suspended after the video went vial. M C Solanki, posted in Dindoli thana of Surat, was captured on video dancing with a woman dancer at an event.

Solanki was entrusted with a task of ensuring security by Sub-Inspector J M Baloch at a religious ceremony in Surat. But, to entertain the crowd, the organisers sent for a bar-dancer and the cop was seen throwing money at the woman and shaking a leg in full swing.

The performance, filmed on mobile phone and circulated on WhatsApp, has come to haunt him three months later.

“We have initiated inquiry against police Sub-Inspector D C Solanki after we saw his video where he was seen dancing with a bargirl in Dindoli area in Surat city, even when he was on duty,” Baloch said.

Solanki had reportedly gone for ‘Vishwakarma Poojan’ on September 19 and that is where he started dancing with the woman.

The video surfaced this week and led to a departmental inquiry against the official.
