Wellington: Want to try on clothes without wasting time and energy? Now “smart mirrors” will fulfill your dream. The mirror, that allows you to virtually try on clothes, has recently been developed by MemoMi.
The mirror also allows people to digitally change the colours of the garments and share their choices with friends via email and social media.
MemoMi, founded by Salvador Nissi Vilcovsky, uses cameras and sensors to track the shopper’s body in real-time.
People can even record 7-second videos of themselves and compare them side-by-side so they can see which pair of jeans made their butt look bigger.
The mirrors are equipped with computer processors and shoppers can use them to set up personal shopping accounts. This way, they can access their purchase history and try-on videos from any personal device remotely.
The smart mirror remembers previous outfit choices, so the shopper can compare and contrast. It also lets people add accessories, and see outfits from different angles without straining their neck or using a wall of mirrors.
Unveiled last year, the tech is now being introduced into Neiman Marcus stores in San Francisco.
