Rowan Atkinson to reprise Mr Bean role for charity

Date:

Comedian Rowan Atkinson will reprise his famous titular character, ‘Mr Bean’, in a skit for a non-profit charity organisation.  The character will mark his 25th anniversary in the one-off sketch on March 13.

Since the show ‘Mr Bean’ came to an end in 1995, Atkinson, 60, has only appeared in one TV sketch, a wedding scene for Comic Relief in 2007.

The role of Mr Bean has appeared in two feature films, a cartoon series, several music videos, advertisements and a special sketch during the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.

A new run of ‘The Mr Bean Animated Series’ will also debut on ITV in February.

Atkinson’s appearance as the Archbishop of Canterbury during Comic Relief in 2013 was judged to have broken rules about offensive language, discrimination and offence against religious beliefs.
