AAP’s 70 point agenda for Delhi

Date:

New Delhi: Ahead of assembly elections in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday released their manifesto for the national capital.

AAP has come out with a seventy point agenda for the capital. The key areas which the manifesto focusses on are ensuring development, women’s safety, water and electricity supply across the city.

Speaking at the conference, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said since November 2014, AAP held a series of discussions on various issues including education, women security and governance in their initiative called Delhi Dialogue. The outcome of the dialogue is what the manifesto comprises of.

“Most of the points in the manifesto have been released through Delhi Dialogue where many action points have been discussed with the people of Delhi and various experts since the last three months”, Kejriwal said, while releasing the manifesto in the national capital.

“Last time we did what we had said in 49 days, will continue to do the same this time. Other parties don’t believe in holding true to their manifestoes. The central government has done nothing they said in their manifesto in the last seven months,” Kejriwal added.

AAP quit government in February 2014, after failing to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill, has once again taken up the task of reducing corruption and passing the Bill.

“To ensure that people are active participants in governance, we will pass the Swaraj Bill and push for full statehood for Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

Like their manifesto from 2013 election, reduction of electricity bills, free lifeline water and CAG audits power discoms are a part of the parties manifesto.
Women security is a major part of their manifesto which includes putting up surveillance cameras, last mile connectivity and marshals in buses.

AAP manifesto also promises an old age pension system, free Wi-Fi around the city and a hospitable environment for businesses in Delhi.
Elections in the national capital will be held on 7 February and counting will be on 10 February.
