New Delhi: The opposition parties are leaving no stone inurned to show their protest against the government’s Land acquisition bill.
The opposition will march to Rashtrapati Bhawan from Parliament House premises on Tuesday and hand over a joint memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee, identifying their points of disagreement with the government on the bill.
Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are likely to lead the march. According to reports leaders of the Janata Dal (United), Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, CPI (M), DMK, INLD and some other parties will also participate along with the Congress in the protest.
Opposition parties have united over the contentious bill, claiming that it is an anti-farmer legislation.
