Hyundai rolls out i20 Active crossover at Rs 6.38 lakh

New Delhi: Hyundai has launched the much awaited i20 Active crossover in the Indian market. Based around the highly acclaimed Elite i20 hatchback, the latest entrant from the Hyundai stable comes with a starting price of Rs 6.38 lakh for petrol and Rs 7.63 lakh for diesel versions.

The i20 Active is powered by two engines – 1.2L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine and 1.4L U2 CRDi diesel engines.

Designed at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the i20 Active adopts a ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language – completing a sporty, sharper and bold look. The i20 Active, SUV appearance conveys athletic presence and aggressive side-profile rake.

The vehicle has front air dam with two tone bumper, silver finish roof rails, chrome outside door handle, side moulding and cladding and tailgate spoiler. While on the interior it has a 60:40 split seat to provide both storage and cargo space, Sunglass Holder, Smart Key with Push button Start/Stop.

The i20 Active boasts a higher ground clearance, more rugged bodywork and comes in 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.4-litre diesel engines.

The petrol variant dual VTVT engine is capable to deliver 83 PS power and 114 Nm torque, while the diesel car can belt out 90 PS and 220 Nm of max torque. The petrol version offers 5 Speed petrol transmission, while the diesel version offers 6 speed manual transmission.

Other features of the car includes reverse parking sensors, 2 din audio with 1 GB memory, FACT with cluster ioniser, rear AC vents, two power outlets, auto foldable electric mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering, anti pinch power windows, headlamp escort function, impact sensing door unlock and rear defogger lines.
