Bengal IAS cadre reshuffled

Kolkata: In a reshuffle in IAS cadre, a key official from the Industry department was removed, apparently sending out a message of revitalising the sector when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has focused on boosting industrialisation.

C M Bachawat, who has been secretary to the Commerce and Industry department, has been shifted to Food and Horticulture department as a secretary, a charge which he was holding additionally, state secretariat sources said.

Bachawat has been replaced in the Commerce and Industry department by an IAS officer S Kishore, now on central deputation.

Joint secretary in Finance department Anurag Srivastava has been transferred as District Magistrate, Darjeeling. Puneet Yadav, DM, Darjeeing has replaced Srivasatava in Finance department.

Subrata Biswas, Secretary to the department of Agriculture and Agriculture marketing, has been shifted to Housing department in the same capacity.

R S Shukla, who has been the secretary of Fire and Emergency services, has been made as Secretary, Agriculture and Agriculture marketing.
