Datawind PocketSurfer – Rs 1,999-Rs 2,999

Aakash tablet maker Datawind recently launched its entry level 2G and 3G mobile handsets, priced in range of Rs 1,999-Rs 2,999, offering free data plan for one year under a tie-up with RCom.

The PocketSurfer 2G4 is a 3.5-inch, Dual SIM, EDGE network compatible smartphone priced at Rs 1,999, while PocketSurfer 3G4 is a 4-inch, dual SIM, dual camera, 3G network compatible smartphone, priced at Rs 2,999.

All the smartphones are pre-loaded with NewsMobile app and other exciting app such as WhatsApp, WeChat, etc.

 

Lenovo A680 – Rs 4,799

The Lenovo A680 offers a 5 inch LCD display but with a little low resolution – 480×854 pixels. The phone comes with quad-core 1.3 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM and offers a decent performance and can even play most of the Android games.

The A680 has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel shooter. But, the phone has no flash light. The Lenovo smartphone has 4 GB of in-built storage and an expandable storage up to 32 GB. The dual-SIM phone comes with all the expected connectivity features including 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.

Its 2000 mAh Li-Po battery claims to offer 13 hours of talk time, which means that in the real world, the phone should be able to provide enough juice to last an entire day of moderate usage on a single charge.

 

Lava Iris Win 1 – Rs 4,999

Lava International launched its first Windows smartphone, Iris Win1, for Rs 4,999 which sports a 4-inch display with a resolution of WVGA pixels.  The Iris Win1 runs on 1.2 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core Processor and is powered by 1 GB RAM. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 32 GB.

There’s a 5 MP main camera with auto focus and an LED flash along with a 0.3 MP front camera. The Iris Win1 runs on Windows 8.1 – the latest offering from Microsoft. In terms of the connectivity, the phone supports two SIMs (3G+2G), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Connectivity.

It is powered by a 1950 mAh Li-Ion battery. The phone comes with a Flip Cover and a screen guard along with other standard accessories including a charger, earphones, and a USB cable.

 

Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus – Rs 4,650

The Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus has a 4 inch display with 480×800 pixels resolution. The smartphone offers quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz and even 1 GB RAM. The internal memory though is just 4 GB while its expandable storage slot can handle a micro SD card of up to 32 GB.

The Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus has a 5 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP shooter. The auto focus rear camera has an LED flash for low light conditions. This dual-SIM smartphone has Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi. It too has a 1500 mAh battery.

 

Microsoft Lumia 435 – Rs 4,053

Microsoft Lumia 435 is a budget-friendly smartphone with 4″ LCD display (480 x 800 pixels), which runs the Lumia Denim update out of the box. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 mobile chipset with dual-core CPU powers the device, coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of built-in storage.

It is worth noting that one can add up to a 128 GB microSD card to expand the storage. At the rear us a 2MP fixed-focus camera for sharing images over social networks, while the front is home to a VGA camera.

Packing 1,560 mAh battery, the Lumia 435 supports 3G networks. It can also use the GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.

 

Intex Aqua AMOLED – Rs 4,300

Some smartphone releases come with a bang while other creep onto the scene with barely a whisper. That’s the case with the recently revealed Intex Aqua AMOLED, which was made public in the company’s official website.

The Intex Aqua AMOLED is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) AMOLED display.

The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera

On the connectivity front, the Aqua Amoled offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options and packs a 1400mAh battery that can deliver up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time.
