Burger marries King and it aint a Whopper

Date:

‘You’re too good to be true, can’t get my eyes off of you’ – Frank Sinatra

Well, this statement only holds true only for two things in life. Food and love. And this Illinois couple’s love story is almost too delicious to be true.

Joel Burger is marrying his childhood sweetheart Ashley King in July. No, this is not a Whopper.

And it gets even tastier. Fast food giant Burger King has decided to pay all the wedding expenses.

The State Journal-Register reports on that as news of the wedding spread, the fast food chain took notice and got in touch with the couple.

Burger King then set up a Skype call to congratulate them.

At the end of the call came the big reveal: Burger King would pay for Burger-King. “On so many levels it felt like fate; they found each other and their story found us,” a Burger King spokesman told State Journal.

The excited couple posed next to a Burger King logo outside the restaurant for their engagement pictures, which appeared in the Chatham Clarion and the New Berlin newspapers.

Burger, 24, and King, 23, were close friends in high school.

They started dating in college, and have been together for the last five years.

Burger is a grain inspector, King is a graduate student.

This truly is a match made in food heaven. Can we expect any future additions to the family to have the hyphenated last name Burger-King?
