PM Modi pays tributes to Gopal Krishna Gokhale

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who paid tributes to Gopal Krishna Gokhale on his birth anniversary on Saturday, said that the latter was a remarkable freedom fighter and social reformer. 

“Gopal Krishna Gokhale was a great personality; a remarkable freedom fighter and social reformer. Tributes to him on his birth anniversary,” he said. 

Gokhale, who was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and founder of the Servants of India Society, is described as one of the founding leaders of India’s independence movement.
