India completes disbursement of $200 million grants to Bangladesh

Dhaka: India has completed the full disbursement of US$ 200 million grant assistance to Bangladesh committed in 2012.

Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran called on Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Tuesday and handed over a cheque of US$ 15 million as the last and final tranche of the US$ 200 million grant committed by the Government of India to Bangladesh in 2012.

With this, India has completed the full disbursement of US$ 200 million grant assistance to Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner also briefed the Bangladesh Finance Minister on the latest status of 15 ongoing projects under the US$ 800 million Indian Line of Credit (LoC), which are in different stages of implementation.

Bangladesh Finance Ministry sources and Indian High Commission in Dhaka, confirmed the news.
