PM Narendra Modi meets Chinese President Xi Jinping

Xian: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on the first leg of his six-day three nation tour, met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. PM Modi had arrived in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province today morning. PM Modi�s decision to start his trip from Shaanxi province is being seen as reciprocal gesture after Chinese President Xi Jinping had started his India trip from Gujarat, Modi�s home state. President Jinping is scheduled to take PM Modi on a tour of the iconic Wild Goose Pagoda built in 6th century AD in recognition of monk Xuan Zang’s contribution in popularizing Buddhism. During his visit of China, Prime Minister Modi will also travel to Beijing and Shanghai, before departing for the second leg of his tour, Mongolia. He will conclude his tour with a visit of South Korea, where he will participate in the sixth Asian Leadership Conference.
