New Delhi: So, then, while Narendra Modi is in China and all of that, some B-Town biggies have boarded the jets to Cannes. The Cannes Annual Film Festival 2015 is underway and the celebrities have already started making their stunning red carpet appearances.
Under the spotlight
Katrina Kaif made her debut at the Cannes this year, but while the Brit import is done with her stint, we have two Indian divas to steal the show. Aishwarya and Sonam have just begun to create ripples with their impeccable choice of ensembles and these Indian beauties are under our spotlight.
Simple and Stunning
Former beauty queen Aishwarya was spotted at a charity event wearing a floral Sabyasachi jumpsuit with a matching cape. Although her look was simple, but she looked extremely fresh. Taking to the red carpet for the screening of Carol, Aishwarya looked stunning in a turquoise/sea green Elie Saab gown paired with DeGrisgono jewellery. The sequinned dress featured cutaways in the skirt with a flattering sheer neckline. She wore her hair swept to the side in loose waves for an elegant style.
The blue-eyed diva made a show stopping entrance on the French Riviera on Sunday.
Aishwarya, who will be making her 14th consecutive appearance at the film fest, will also walk the red carpet as L’oreal brand ambassador on May 20. On May 19, the actress will be a part of an event, where the first look of her comeback film Jazbaa will be unveiled. And her Cannes travelogue will conclude with the amfAR gala on May 21, which she will attend with her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Look at the fashionista!
Meanwhile, the ‘Dolly ki Doli’ star Sonam Kapoor has given three perfect looks already. On Day 1, she wore a nude Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla ruffled saree with a laser cut blouse. Earlier in the day, she stepped out wearing no-fuss Ulyana Sergeenko creation.
Day 2 saw her slay the red carpet in a cobalt Ralph & Russo couture gown. Complete with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and Chopard jewellery, The gorgeous actress made heads turn with her perfect ensemble.
Our take
After seeing all these sizzling divas, we can say that Katrina’s looks were, in comparison, pretty dull. For the press junkets, she chose a monochrome Milly number, which was pretty spunky considering her tendency to play it safe.
Day after, she walked the red carpet in a Oscar De La Renta gown, which didn’t do justice to her personality.
Next up was a gorgeous belted Ellie Saab gown. Although it was one of her better looks at the fest.
