After a lot of hooplah CBSE results declared

Date:

13,73,853 students. They’d been waiting with bated breath for this moment. A moment that would define their choices, a moment of truth. CBSE declared its Class X results today and after much confusion about the dates, the numbers are finally here.

However, owing to extreme web traffic that the site couldn’t withstand, it crashed and is now not opening.

This time too, the girls have outshone, but the not-that-great part of the results was the fact that there was a drop in the overall pass percentage this year, 97.32 as compared to the 98.87 in the 2014.

The number of students who have scored a 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) this year is a whopping 94,447.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the average of Grade Points obtained in all the subjects excluding 6th additional subject as per Scheme of Studies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the students who have cleared the exam via twitter. “To all my young friends who passed the CBSE Class X exams- Congratulations & best wishes for the continuing academic journey,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

The overall percentage of candidates qualified for admission in higher class in Thiruvananthapuram region is 99.77, which is the highest among all regions, with percentage of girls who qualified for higher class is 97.82, while for boys it was 96.98..

Other numbers that have begun trickling in are Ajmer- 98.03, Panchkula- 97.97, Delhi- 96.29, Guwahati- 86.55, Chennai- 99.03, Trivandrum- 99.77

Schools can access the results on internet by giving their school code and e-mail-ID after registering themselves on www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in

“The results of Class 10 for all the regions have now been announced,” the CBSE official said.

The official, however, admitted that the board website was down because of heavy traffic.
