IIFA will see some ‘Dabbang’ crooning!

Date:

We almost always end up treating our actresses like glam dolls. But then, are they?

No, they’re a bunch of talented ladies who can master more than one art. I’m not kidding.

Earlier, we saw Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor wooing everyone with their magical voices. But that’s not the end. There is a new member in this list. Well, she doesn’t need much introduction; she is none other our Dabangg actress.

Yes, you people guessed it right, Sonakshi Sinha joins this team.

The Dabangg actress always dreamt of performing like a ‘rockstar’ in front of a live audience, and seems like her dream is on the cusp of coming true. According to latest reports,  she will be singing at the forthcoming 16th edition of the three-day International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards in June.
Hosted by actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra, IIFA Rocks, an exclusive music extravaganza, will see a host of musical performances by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Mika, Ankit Tiwari, Kanika Kapoor, Javed Ali and the Nooran sisters.

Sonakshi will exercise her vocal chords at IIFA Rocks on June 5.

“I’m all set for IIFA. I always had this ‘rockstar’ dream in my life that I am singing at a concert… and this is going to be as close to it as possible. In a way, my dream is coming true. So, yes, I am very excited,” she said.

The actress, who is working hard on A.R. Murugadoss’s ‘Akira’, has been named the face of the five-day fashion extravaganza, which will start on July 15.

There will be performances by Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Parineeti Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi and Shahid Kapoor. Actresses Jacqueline Fernandez, Aditi Rao Hydari, Lisa Haydon and Lauren Gottlieb will also perform at IIFA Rocks.

Established in 2000, IIFA Awards were initiated with the aim of celebrating Indian cinema across the world.
