Ustad Amjal Ali Khan is no new name for any music lover. Thanks to his immense contribution to Indian music, he has been conferred with the ​Kerala ​Government’s highest honour for music named after the great composer ​Maharaja ​Swati ​Thirunal titled ‘​Swati ​Puraskar’ this year.Â
The award will be presented by the ​Chief ​Minister of ​Kerala ​Shri Oommen ​Chandy in the ​Durbar hall of Secretariat in​ the month of August​ 2015.
The announcement has been made by ​Shri. K.​C.​Joseph​,​ ​Culture ​Minister ​of Kerala.
This decision was taken by a five member committee chaired by ​Shri ​Soorya ​Krishnamoorthy,​Chairman,​Kerala ​Sangeetha ​Nataka ​Akademi took this decision.
Pandit ​Bhimsen​ Josh​i,​ Pandit ​Jasraj, ​Balamurali ​Krishna, ​Yesudas,​ Bismillah ​Khan,​ Dakshina ​Murthy were the previous recipients of this award.
